“Bubble Bandit” case in front of the judge

We’re waiting for the judge’s verdict in the Bryan “Bubble Bandit” case. A 32-year-old Bryan resident, Zach Perez, is on trial for allegedly pouring soap into the Bard Centennial Fountain last September. He’s charged with criminal damaging. The damages amounted to $386, to replace the filter, and four volunteers cleaned up the mess, according to the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. Surveillance video shows a man near the fountain, pouring the contents of a small bottle into the fountain, according to a Williams County deputy. Perez denies it is him. The judge took the case under advisement and will render a verdict after studying the security camera footage.
