Budget lower for next year’s utilities

In news that affects your wallet, Bryan Municipal Utilities plans to cut about 2.5 million dollars from next year’s budget. This year’s spending was up dramatically because the Electric Department’s gas turbine No. 2 needed extensive repairs.

The budget will go before the Bryan City Council Budget Committee for their review. Then it goes to the full council for final approval. Council is expected to vote on the budget at the meeting on December 21st.
