Burl E. Miller, 79, of Ney, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Brookview Healthcare Center, Defiance. Burl was born September 8, 1944, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Russell and Irene (Moog) Miller. He was a 1962 graduate of Fairview High School. Burl served in the United States Army from July 20, 1965, until his honorable discharge on July 5, 1967. He was a faithful employee at Bryan Custom Plastics where he worked for 40 years. Burl was a member of the Sherwood VFW Post 5665 and Farmer American Legion Post 137. He was known for his generosity and most people thought of him as ‘The Pen Guy” (he frequently gave ink pens to people he met.)
Surviving is his sister, Ethel Oskey of Cecil, Ohio; 9 nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Raymond Baysden. Burl was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathy Baysden; brother-in-law, Michael Oskey.
To honor Burl’s wishes there will be no visitation or services held. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn Street, Bryan.
