Carol J. Thomas, age 82, of Edgerton, Ohio, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance. Carol was secretary at Federal Fertilizer, had worked at Edgerton Metals and did house cleaning. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Montpelier and the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture and spending time with family and friends.
Carol was born April 23, 1935, in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Naomi L. (Cape) Moore. She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1953. She married Homer Thomas on May 11, 1967 in Elliott City, Maryland and he preceded her in death.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Linda (Michael) Vogel, of Montpelier; son, William Diehm, of Auburn; stepdaughter, Connie Sue Thomas, of Mattoon, Illinois; granddaughters, Ashley (Andrew Hohstadt) Woods, of Bryan, Stacey Diehm, of Fort Wayne and Jennifer Vogel, of Wauseon and great granddaughters, LoDena and Nevaeh Woods, of Bryan. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step daughter, Sharon Morris and brother, Robert Lehman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church, Montpelier with Pastor Richard Blank officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
