The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Paulding Police puts up an OVI checkpoint on Ohio 111, between Grant and Dewitt streets. 72 vehicles are stopped, resulting in one drunk driving arrest. Two other drivers get tickets for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

The Bryan City Council okay’s a 628 thousand dollar contract with Gerken Paving of Napoleon to put a new blacktop on Union Street. Also, East Wilson gets new asphalt from Union to near the east side city line. Only the lone bid by Gerken was submitted to city officials.
