An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was killed after his cruiser was struck while he was assisting a disabled semi-truck on state Route 11 in Mahoning County on Thursday morning, authorities said. Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Patrol said in a statement.
