A new superintendent is selected for the Evergreen School District. The position, previously held by Jim Wyse will be taken over by Eric Smola. Smola was formerly the principal of St. Francis for 10 years. Wyse has accepted superintendent duties for the Millcreek-West Unity school district for this coming year.

David Letterman visited northeast Indiana. The former late night host and Indianapolis native visited a few places in Angola. Letterman, a Ball State University graduate, currently hosts the Netflix series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.”

Two people are hurt in a two car crash on Ohio 107 west of Montpelier. The occupants of one vehicle sustained moderate to severe injuries. A person in the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries and released. The crash is under investigation by local authorities at this hour.

An Edgerton man pleads guilty to drug charges after being indicted on several others in March. Daniel Goebel was accused of possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs. At his arrest, he also had 42 grams of meth on him. Sentencing is set for next month.

A suspect uses fake money used in motion pictures to get a deck of lotto tickets at a Bryan Spee D Mart. Officers say the 100 dollar bill had the words movie set money printed on it. The incident is under investigation. The police knows who the suspect is.

An interim school superintendent is approved in Archbold. Board officials say Marc Robinson has a contract now through July 2019. Current superintendent, Aaron Rex will be assuming the position of superintendent of Wapakoneta City Schools in August.

Edgerton village has a new Village Administrator. Zachary Dohner, was introduced at this week’s council meeting. Dohner, 24, is a 2016 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in communication. Dohner takes over for Dawn Fitzcharles, who is now with Bryan Municipal Utilities.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in a crash in Steuben County that injured three people. Emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Orland Road and County Road 225 West. Deputies found a pickup truck, driven by Chase Townsend of Angola. Witnesses told officers the vehicle was westbound when …
