Cathy Jo Mattison, age 64, of Delta passed away June 19, 2013 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Prior to her retirement she had worked as Substitute Teacher in the Special Education field and had also worked for many years for the former Kolb Hardware in Wauseon.
Mrs. Mattison was born on February 9, 1949 in Wauseon the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Rosemary (Keafer) Goodwin. On March 20, 1971 she married Edward Mattison and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2011. She was a BGSU graduate with a degree in Biology. Mrs. Mattison was active in the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce, the Youth for Understanding Exchange Student program and the Fulton County Historical Society.
Surviving are three sons; Jerry (Jamie) Love of Delta, Joe (Katie) Mattison of Napoleon, Tim (Kelli) Mattison of Napoleon; 11 grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Josh, Steven, Mariah, Jasmine, Cloey, Clayton, Xyler, Deblin, and Zeagan. Also surviving is sister; Nancy McKeithen of Harpers Ferry, WV. Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents was a son; Joshua Mattison in 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday June 24, 2013 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-8:00pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Fulton County Historical Society.
