The Special Response Team at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker recently did a tactical assessment of the campus at Northwest State Community College in Archbold.
The jail’s tactical unit, which is more like a SWAT team, specializes in crowd control, hostage negotiations and use of force.
CCNO guards are not certified peace officers, though. The Bryan Times reports that, since the school’s campus is located in Henry County, the Sheriff got around that issue by swearing in the jail staff as Henry County Deputies, giving them the authority to respond to emergencies at the college along with any other local law enforcment officers.
