Child Neglect Charged

A Steuben County cou­ple were arrested Wednes­day, accused of neglect­ing and mis­treat­ing a 6-year-old child

29 year old Christo­pher Wick­er­ham, and 32 year old April Wick­er­ham, both now face felony counts of neglect of a depen­dent and bat­tery to a child after an inves­ti­ga­tion by The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was launched last month fol­low­ing a report that a child in the couple’s care had been mis­treated.

Inves­ti­ga­tors say the child involved is the bio­log­i­cal child of Christo­pher Wick­er­ham and the stepchild of April Wick­er­ham.

The Wick­er­hams were arrested at their home near Hamil­ton on Wednes­day and then locked up in the Steuben County Jail, where they remain with­out bail.
