Christina Rath, 72

Christina Rath, 72, of Hicksville, Ohio passed away at home on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Christina was born July 23, 1952, in Grabill, Indiana, daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia (Eicher) Delagrange. She was a 1971 graduate of Fairview High School. Christina married James E. Rath on November 7, 1980. Christina and Jim cherished each other’s company and traveled to many destinations across the United States, and spent many winters at Gulf Shores, Alabama in their camper. They also enjoyed attending historical re-enactments at Auglaize Village, Defiance. Jim preceded Christina in death on September 10, 2020. She worked as a crane operator at Dietrich Industries for 32 years, until her retirement in 2003. Christina was a formerly a member of First Church of Christ, Hicksville and currently a member of Cornerstone Church. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, tending to her yard and enjoying nature. Christina loved her family and supported them in all their activities. She was a loving grandmother and had a special relationship with her grandchildren, Ayden, Shalee, and Levi.

Surviving are her five children, Charissa (James Williams) Miller of Hicksville, Ohio, Virginia (Howie) Bender of Montpelier, Ohio, Gena Emerick of Hamilton, Indiana, Jahnine (Philip) Blosser of Toledo, Ohio, and David (Tracy) Rath of Findlay, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, Ayden, Shalee, Levi, Theresa, Natasha, Lacy, Travis, Janel, Zoe, Griffin, Maya, Derrik, Owen, Keaton, Ian, and Jaxon; 11 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Donna Secrist, Wilmer (Diane) Delagrange, Mildred Riccius, Lydia Watson, Merle (Ruth) Delagrange, Edwin (Judy) Delagrange, and Diane (Robert) Joost; sister-in-law, Ethel Delagrange, and many nieces and nephews. Christina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Rath; brother, Noah Delagrange; niece, Aleisha Delagrange; nephew, Patrick Delagrange; two brothers-in-law, Butch Riccius and Rex Watson.

Visitation for Christina will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 N. Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio. Funeral Services will immediately begin at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with Pastor AJ Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Six Corners Cemetery.
