Christine Brennan, 76

Christine M. Brennan, 76 years, of Bryan, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, December 12, 2014 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance.  Christine was born March 31, 1938 in Shelby, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rev. Victor and Lura (Brubaker) Roebuck.  She was a 1956 graduate of Bryan High School and then received her Bachelors Degree in Christian Education from Wheaton College in 1960.  Christine married Robert D. Brennan on August 20, 1960 in Shelby, Ohio.  Christine taught Kindergarten for a short time before starting a family. For over 40 years she taught piano lessons to many area children including her own children and grandchildren. She served as Director of Christian Education at the Bryan First Presbyterian Church. Christine was a member of New Hope Community Church where she was instrumental in the forming the Primetime Group.  She was involved in several area causes including the Literary Forum, CPC Women’s Health Resource, forming Neighborhood Bible Studies, participating in the Madrigal Chorale and the Great Banquet Community.  Christine has left a legacy of music for her children and grandchildren.  She also had a passion for sharing her faith in Jesus Christ to those she came into contact with.  Christine also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and sunsets on Lake Michigan at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference, Muskegon, Michigan.

Surviving is her husband, Robert D. Brennan of Bryan; one daughter, Lisa (Mike) Baty of Grand Rapids, Ohio; two sons, Steve (Deb) Brennan of Milford, Michigan and Jeff (Noelle) Brennan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan (Danielle), T.J.  and Kelly Brennan, Kate, Sarah, Abbey and Meg Brennan, Adam, Jenny, Erin and Zac Baty.  She was expecting the arrival of her first great-grandson in March of 2015.  She is also survived by one brother, Dr. David (Pat) Roebuck of Bryan and one sister, Jan (Dave) Wagner of Goodrich, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Roberta Vest.

Visitation for Christine M. Brennan will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at New Hope Community Church, 15627 US Highway 127 EW, Bryan, Ohio from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. with Memorial Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors David Nicholls and Pat Schwenk officiating.  Private interment will be made at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy to consider memorial contributions be made to Cancer Assistance of Williams County, P.O. Box 7084, Bryan, Ohio 43506 or to the CPC Women’s Health Resource, 1410 West High Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
