Clinic Is Set

Williams County OSU Extension officials told county commissioners the next fertilizer and pesticide recertification clinic in Williams County is set for March 9, 2023. Officials hope to have a new agriculture and natural resources educator before then…perhaps as early as the end of this year. They are not yet able to identify the new agriculture and natural resources educator, who will take the place of Stephanie Karhoff, who resigned this past summer to take a state-level position with the Extension. Each county does a pesticide and fertilizer recertification clinic and Extension statistics showed that 31 pesticide and 44 fertilizer applicators attended this year’s clinic, and 93% of applicators improved practice to improve the environment” following recertification training. 42 local beef producers attended the most recent beef quality assurance program, which teaches best management practices to capture more value from their market cattle.
