Clyde Patrick “Pat” Humbarger, 73

Clyde Patrick “Pat” Humbarger, 73, a life long resident of Montpelier passed away Saturday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier.  He was born on December 26, 1945 in Montpelier to Robert G. and Ellamae (Walt) Humbarger.  Clyde graduated from Montpelier High School in 1963.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.  On June 24, 1967 he married Sandra L. Britton in Angola and she survives.

Clyde retired from Powers and Sons in Montpelier after 41 years as a machinist.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time at the lake. Family was important to him, he loved going to his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.  At one time he had coached kids’ baseball and softball.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Humbarger of Montpelier; children Kimberly (David) Lenz, Corey (Terry) Humbarger, and David R. Humbarger (Amanda Logan), all of Montpelier; grandchildren Brittney Lenz, Nicole (Daniel) Cooley, Jessica Humbarger, Henry Humbarger, Kaycee Humbarger and Janessa Humbarger; and great grandchild Elias Cooley.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Humbarger, infant brother Bobby Humbarger and sisters Charlene Miller and Kathy Clark.

Visitation for Clyde will be on Tuesday, December 3rd from 2-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier.  Services will be on Wednesday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Case to officiate.  Interment will follow at Shiffler Cemetery in rural Bryan.  Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
