Cold Case Arrest

A Steuben County man is now charged with a mur­der that took place almost 13 years ago. 4

9-year-old Mark Fritz of But­ler was arrested fol­low­ing an inves­ti­ga­tion into the death of 70-year-old Samuel Hunter who was mur­dered and robbed in his home back in June of 2001.

A pre-trial con­fer­ence is sched­uled for June 23rd in Steuben Supe­rior Court, and a jury trial is ten­ta­tively set for August 28th. A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Fritz dur­ing his ini­tial hear­ing on Thurs­day. Fritz is being held with­out bond.
