A woman was lucky after her car crashed Monday morning in Defiance on East River Drive, west of East High Street. Defiance Police say it happened around 11:30 Monday morning, when the woman’s vehicle ran off the road, hit a utility pole and came to rest in the trees and brush along the River.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital by ambulance.
Toledo Edison was was called in to replace the pole and restore power that was knocked out in the area. The road was closed for more than an hour while crews worked to clean up the mess.
