D. Jeanette Burkhart, age 91, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 2:18 A.M. on Friday, October 12, 2018, in her home, with her family by her side. Mrs. Burkhart was a 1944 graduate of Butler High School in Butler, Indiana, and had been employed for many years as a parts manager with Vic Miller Ford and then for Lou Lou Witte Ford in Edgerton. She served as an emergency medical technician with Squad 38 in Edgerton, was a member of the Edgerton Firemen’s Auxiliary and enjoyed making donuts for sale to support the local fire department. An avid bowler and member of the Women’s Bowling Association in Butler, she accumulated numerous awards and trophies throughout the years and had the thrill of bowling a 300 game. Jeanette also enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, baking, being with her family and grandchildren, and caring for her beloved cat, Isis.
D. Jeanette Burkhart was born on November 10, 1926, near Butler, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Velma (Haverstock) Freidenberger. She married George J. Burkhart on September 24, 1952, in Auburn, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Huard and Deb (Pete) Shindledecker, both of Edgerton; three grandchildren, Beth Huard, Tony (Sara) Huard and Christine Huard; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Cole, Mateo, Elle and Jamie. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Junior Freidenberger.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 A.M., in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
