Dale Eitzman, 78

Dale R. Eitzman, age 78, of Edgerton, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his residence. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church near Edgerton, Ohio and an avid supporter of the Edgerton Athletic Boosters. Dale was a carpenter and worked for Thiel Construction for over 25 years. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1957-1961.

Born December 4, 1936 in Henry County, Ohio, he was the son of Carl H. and Alameda E. (Groll) Eitzman. He graduated from Holgate High School. On December 30, 1956 he married Clara Sickmiller in Napoleon, Ohio and she survives. Dale is also survived by his daughters, Teresa (Kerry) Kurtz, Cindy (Jim) Thiel and Kathy (Jeff) Karnes, all of Edgerton; seven grandchildren, Shana Kurtz, Nicole Thiel, Renee Karnes, Jami Karnes, Justin (Kirsten) Kurtz, Rich (Andrea) Thiel and Sean (Natasha) Thiel; five great grandchildren; sisters, Jackie (Orville) Weirauch, of Napoleon, Bonnie Sito, of Montpelier and Sandra (John) Folk, of New Bavaria and a sister-in-law, Juanita Eitzman, of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 great grandsons; brothers, Marian and James Eitzman and sisters, Dorothy Ordway, Jeanette Engel, Joyce Sito and Helen Franz.

Funeral services for Dale R. Eitzman will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Kurt Letcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Bryan VFW Post 2489. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio, from 2:00-8:00P.M. on Monday, December 15, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials in the name of Dale R. Eitzman may be given to the Edgerton Area Foundation.
