Daniel Alvin Dayhoff, 85

Daniel Alvin Dayhoff, 85, of Angola, Indiana and formerly of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola. He was born on August 31, 1931 in Angola to Lorn J. and Margaret (Miser) Dayhoff. Daniel graduated from Montpelier High School in 1950. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On November 13, 1956 he married Jacquelyn McMillan in Angola and she preceded him in death in 1964.

Daniel worked as a tool and cutter grinder for Mohawk Tools in Montpelier, ARO Corporation in Bryan and Modern Aire in Waterloo, Indiana. He formerly attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Daniel enjoyed playing his trumpet.

He is survived by his son, Scott K. Dayhoff of Angola, one granddaughter, Jacquelyn Dayhoff of Angola and one sister, Lorna McCutheon of Ocala, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jacquelyn and one son, Miles B. Dayhoff.

Daniel will be laid to rest in a private service at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Donations may be made in his memory to Community Hospitals and Wellness Center- Montpelier Rehabilitation.
