Darlene J. Goebel, age 75, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away suddenly early Monday, October 9, 2017, in her home. Mrs. Goebel was a 1961 graduate of Edgerton High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton. She was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed the monthly gathering of her small faith-sharing widows group.
Darlene J. Goebel was born on December 19, 1941, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of John F. and Arlene E. (Kittredge) Rath. She married Jerald E. “Jerry” Goebel on August 11, 1962, in Edgerton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2007.
Surviving are one daughter, Darla (Thane) Faber, of Edgerton; one son, Dean (Tammy) Goebel, of Bryan, Ohio; seven grandchildren, David, Zachary, Karley and Dacoda Faber and Tara (Goebel) Caryer and Jeffrey and Dylan Goebel; five great-grandchildren, Braeden Hancock, Skyler Hancock, Madison Faber, Kaden Klinger and Saul Goebel; and two sisters, Connie (Joe) Cape, of Edgerton, and Judy Smith, of Bryan. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017, from 1:00-6:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, with recitation of the rosary at 6:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Edgerton.
