David R. Parker, 83

David R. Parker, 83 of Hamilton, Indiana, and formerly of Petersburg and Lambertville Michigan, passed away on July 6, 2024, suddenly at home. David was born February 5, 1941, in Hartford, Connecticut, son of the late Emerson James Parker and Julia (Hyson) Parker. He graduated from Suffield Academy (Connecticut), attended Dennison University (Ohio), obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Parsons College (Iowa) and then his Master of Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University.

David served in the Michigan Air National Guard for 30 years, from his enlistment in November 1966, until his honorable discharge in August 1996. He married Marilyn Loch on February 13, 1982, at Martha-Mary Chapel, Greenfield Village, Dearborn Michigan, and she survives.

David was a dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Company for over 42 years, working as a purchasing manager until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Sylvania Elks Lodge #53. David was an avid golfer from a very young age. He enjoyed shooting pool, boating on Hamilton Lake, and playing cribbage. He loved all sports, especially hockey and auto racing. For several years he served as manager for his son’s travel hockey team.

David was known for his ready smile, and all enjoyed being in his company. David was known for his integrity and treating others with respect. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn of Hamilton, three children, Christy (Theodore) Bomba of Freeland, Michigan, Jamie L. Parker of Freeland, Michigan, and Bryant David (Jamie Marie) Parker of Chicago, Illinois. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Anna-Marie Bazakis, Julia Bomba, Maverick Parker, and Eleanor Parker. He was also close to sisters-in-law Carolyn Loch, Susan Kreger, and Linda Bylow. David also held dear his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Per David’s request, no visitation or funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 E Church Street, Hamilton, Indiana 46742.
