David Raber, 73, of Hicksville passed away of an apparent heart attack on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Community Memorial Hospital. David was born December 30, 1947, in Jerome, Michigan, the son of the late Jacob and Sylvia (Richer) Raber. He married Verna Mae Wagler on February 20, 1969, and she survives. David worked at Henney Builders and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Hicksville Amish Church.
David is survived by his wife, Verna Mae Raber of Hicksville, Ohio; seven children, Regina (Art) Graber of Hicksville, Ohio, Daniel (Lucinda) Raber of Wooster, Ohio, John (Julia) Raber of Hicksville, Ohio, Philip (Rebecca) Raber of Hicksville, Ohio, Mary Magdalena Raber of Hicksville, Ohio, Joshua (Marietta) Raber of Middlebury, Indiana, Ruth Ann Raber of Hicksville, Ohio; 29 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Miriam) Raber of Hicksville, Ohio; two sisters, Mary (Amos) Stoll, Jr. of Hicksville, Ohio, Martha (Marcus) Shetler of Hicksville, Ohio. David was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Anna Nisley and three grandchildren.
Visitation for David Raber will be held Monday, October 4, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Hicksville Amish Community Building, 7207 Hicksville Edgerton Road, Hicksville, Ohio. Funeral services for David Raber will be held Wednesday, October 6, 20201 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hicksville Amish Community Building. Interment will follow in the Hicksville Amish Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.
