DEFIANCE AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS

The Defi­ance County Regional Air­port Author­ity will soon be handed more than $300,000 fed­eral funds to com­plete improve­ments.

It was announced on Mon­day that the Fed­eral Avi­a­tion Admin­is­tra­tion has awarded $344,781 to the Defi­ance Air­port Author­ity and the Defi­ance County com­mis­sion­ers. The funds will be used to install a new taxi­way light­ing sys­tem and to remove tree obstruc­tions along the run­way approach, improv­ing vis­i­bil­ity and safety at the Defi­ance Memo­r­ial Airport.
