Defiance County Republican Party Central Committee selects new commissioner.

Matthew Koester has been selected as Defiance County’s new commissioner. The Defiance County Republican Party Central Committee chose Koester from a field of seven candidates who had submitted resumes and appeared for interviews Monday. A certification by the county’s board of elections and Ohio Secretary of State’s Office is required before Koester can be sworn in. Koester is the director of sales inventory and operations planning at Davenport Manufacturing in Fremont, Ind. The company was formerly known as Koester Metals.
