Defiance man sentenced on rape charges

28 year old Justin Hogue of Maumee Drive in Defiance was given a 14-year term by Judge Joseph Schmenk in Defiance County Common Pleas Court on two counts of attempted rape and gross sexual imposition. He also was classified as a tier 3 sexual offender. The two attempted rape charges were each amended from rape , which had carried the possibility of life imprisonment because the victim was less than 10 years of age. Hogue had pleaded guilty to the charges on Nov. 8. He will be eligible for judicial release after serving seven years of his prison term.
