Defiance Power Outage Due To Transformer Malfunction

A blown trans­former turned out the lights for a num­ber of homes and busi­nesses in Defi­ance on Wednes­day.

The trans­former mal­func­tioned around 10:30 yes­ter­day morn­ing on Qual­ity Drive, affect­ing as many as 500 cus­tomers.

Traf­fic lights in the area were also affected, and city work­ers rushed in to direct traf­fic and put up signs.

There were no reports of acci­dents or any­one get­ting hurt.

The fire depart­ments and police also assisted with traf­fic con­trol. All power has since been restored.
