Defiance wants to get eyesores cleaned up, removed

Defiance County commissioners have earmarked $150,000 from the unappropriated county funds portion of the budget to pay for removal of vacant properties. The county is targeting these eyesores and asking the townships and municipalities to each come up with a target list to start from. The Commission will take applications through May first, then decide which properties will go. They’re also looking for bids from contractors who want to take down the buildings.
