Deloris Baker, 87

Deloris A. Baker, 87, of Montpelier, passed away Saturday at her son’s home in Alvordton.  She was born on January 21, 1926 in Pioneer, Ohio to Clarence E. and Lelia (Richardson) Lanius.  Deloris attended the Hay Jay School and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1944.  She was a William’s County resident her entire life.

Deloris enjoyed going to Opdyke Park in Jefferson Township to listen to music, playing the guitar, and according to her children and grandchildren she was the best pie maker.

Deloris is survived by one son Rodney D. (Jonell) Baker, Sr. of Alvordton; one daughter Linda K. (Ray) Boucher of Bryan; four grandchildren Rodney D. Baker, Jr., Keith A. Baker, Joel L. Baker, and Lori L. Harris; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother Jack (Charlotte) Lanius of Dade City, Florida; two sisters Yovannah (Raymond) Miller of Montpelier and Marvel (Ted) Rupp of Stryker, Ohio and special friend Howard Moor of Montpelier.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Russell Dale Baker in August of 1999, and three brothers Bud, Pete, and Dwayne Lanius.

Visitation for Deloris will be on Tuesday October 1st from 12:30-2pm at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier with Reverend Ron Evans to officiate.  Donations may be made to Americare Home Health or Community Health Professionals – Hospice.
