Denise M. Smith, 66

Denise M. Smith, age 66, of Bryan, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Denise worked at several area businesses including Potter, Inc., Air Mate and Healthcare Solutions, Inc. She attended New Hope Community Church, was a member of the Imagination Station Building Committee, Bryan Athletic Boosters, served as a Junior High Cheerleading Advisor for several years and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan.

Family was the most important thing to Denise. She was a devoted mother to her three sons and a loving “Ma” to her ten grandchildren. She loved attending all her grandchildren’s activities, especially ball games.

Denise was born on April 18, 1958 in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of Richard R. and Mary A. (Clark) Kuszmaul. She was a graduate of Hilltop High School and attended The Ohio State University. Denise married Michael D. Smith on June 9, 1979 in Bryan and he survives.

Denise is also survived by her sons, Nathan (Courtney) Smith, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Travis (Dawn) Smith, of Montpelier and Tyler (Megan) Smith, of Upper Arlington; ten grandchildren, Kiptyn, Braxton, Kenley, Peyton, Dylan, Parker, Daxton, Stetson, Barrett and Bryer; two sisters, Richele Kuszmaul, of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Brenda (Michael) Gable, of Alvordton, Ohio; three brothers, Brian (Dawn) Kuszmaul, also of Alvordton, William (Lisa) Kuszmaul, of Camden, Michigan, and Richard “Dick” (Theresa) Kuszmaul, Jr., of Bryan; mother-in-law, Shirley Swett, of Bryan; brother-in-law, Jeff (Jari) Smith, of Cincinnati and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents.

Visitation for Denise will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 903 Center Street, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Christine Case officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions to Cancer Assistance of Williams County.
