Dennis C. Worden, 79

Dennis “Hummer” C. Worden, 79, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Dennis was born August 8, 1944, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Charles W. and Velma (Rapp) Worden.  He was a 1962 graduate of Hicksville High School.  He worked as a quality control inspector at Zollner Pistons in Fort Wayne for over 30 years, retiring in 2001.  Dennis was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Hicksville Eagles Aerie 2556 and the Hicksville American Legion Post 223.  In his younger years, Dennis enjoyed drag racing at Avilla Motor Speedway and Dragway and taking fishing trips to Minnesota.  He was a dedicated Ohio State Buckeye fan, and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

He is survived by his good friend, Kathy Spiess of Hicksville; two brothers, Billy (Charlotte) Worden of Milford, Delaware, and Robert Worden of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three children, Denise Owdom of Columbus, Ohio, Renee (Bree) Owdom of Marion, Ohio, and Matt (Autumn) Owdom of Marion, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Jesse Santos of Columbus, Ohio, and Grace Owdom of Marion, Ohio.  Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Dennis C. Worden will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.  Funeral services for Dennis will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Father Daniel Borgelt officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
