Diana “Di” Lynn (Cook) Bowman, 76

In Loving Memory of Diana Lynn Bowman

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diana Lynn “Di” Bowman, age 76, of Montpelier, Ohio. On October 28, 2024, Diana passed peacefully while in the care of hospice, surrounded by the love of her family.

A lifelong resident of Montpelier, Diana was born to Vernon “Hal” Cook and Mary L. Cook. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1966. In 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Lynn Bowman, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that spanned 57 years.

Diana was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. Throughout her adult life, she faced significant health challenges with unwavering courage and grace, embodying a spirit that inspired all who knew her. Supported in every way by her husband—the love of her life—she never allowed her struggles to define her, instead choosing to live each day with grace and determination.

A gifted artist and craftsperson, she found joy in painting and creating, leaving behind countless works that reflect her eye for beauty and her creative spirit. Her artistic legacy is a testament to her vibrant soul and will continue to inspire those who knew her, particularly the many friends she made in her online artist communities.

Above all, Diana was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her sons, Craig and Corey, whose achievements and adventures she recounted with pride. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. As a grandmother to DJ, Anna, Alyssa, and Peyton, she delighted in hearing about their lives and cheering them on from afar, always offering her love and support. Diana was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, with a fourth joyfully expected.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband Lynn; sons Craig and Corey; brothers Kent Cook and Mark Cook; sister Pat Mingus; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry Cook, and her sister Lorie Cook.

Per Diana’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private family funeral will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Diana’s name to the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, whose compassionate care provided comfort during her final days.

Diana’s warmth, creativity, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
