Djissana Sophie Tewksbury, 49

Djissana Pelagie Sophie (Bame) Tewksbury, age 49, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne following a lengthy illness. Sophie worked at Bryan Care & Rehabilitation Center in Bryan in the housekeeping department and also for Service Master cleaning at Bard Manufacturing. She enjoyed day trips and shopping, as long as it was time together with her husband, Rick.

She was born on May 25, 1975, in Ouragahio, Cote D’Ivory, the daughter of Bedi F. and Honohi P. (Gbaka) Bame. Sophie married Rick Tewksbury on January 20, 2018 in Mbour, Senegal and he survives.

Sophie is also survived by her four sons; a daughter; two stepsons and several brothers and sisters. Preceding her in death were her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Graveside funeral services will follow at Shiffler Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Pastor Luke Nagy officiating.
