Donald L. Groff, age 85, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 6:55 A.M. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier, Ohio, after an extended illness. Mr. Groff worked as a construction brick mason for many years and then later at the truss plant in Edgerton until his retirement. He enjoyed going to the lake and fishing.
Donald L. Groff was born on October 13, 1931, in Edgerton, the son of George and Helen (Siebenaler) Groff. He married Mae Susann “Sue” Hamman on September 10, 1950, in Angola, Indiana, and she survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Deon (Carol) Groff, of Bryan, Ohio, and Gary Groff, of Waterville, Ohio; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Doris Singleton, of Auburn, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Dee Groff, also of Auburn. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Groff, in 1954; three brothers, Kenneth, Ed and Maurice Groff; and one sister, Betty Beard.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
