Donald Wayne Smith, age 74, of Wauseon and formerly of Toledo passed away Monday April 11, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. Prior to his retirement he had been a Sanitation Engineer for BFI.
Mr. Smith was born in Toledo on July 1, 1941 the son of the late Leroy and the late Lucille (Steele) Smith. In his retirement he had been a nursing home volunteer and also enjoyed music, movies and playing games.
Surviving is son Dan (Lori) Johnson of Wauseon and grandchildren Conner and Cory Johnson also of Wauseon. Preceding him in death besides his parents were 3 grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held at 4:00pm Sunday April 17, 2016 at the North Clinton Church in Wauseon. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the church from 2:00pm until service time.
