Dorothy Jones, 86

Dorothy A. Jones, age 86, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:55 A.M. on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, after an extended illness. Mrs. Jones was employed by Ohio Art Company in Bryan, where she worked on the Etch A Sketch line, retiring with thirty-seven years of service. She was a member of Bryan Eagles, Aerie #2233 and enjoyed playing cards and working crossword puzzles.

Dorothy Arvilla Jones was born on August 19, 1927, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of James and Bertha (Garland) Fry. She married Dareld H. Jones in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Donald) Landel, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Doris (Willard) DeLong, of Bryan; one son, David (Penny) Jones, of Bryan; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Janet Collingsworth, Margaret Miller and Robert Fry, all of Butler, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor David Oliphant officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery near Bryan. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.

Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
