Dorothy Lind, 92

Dorothy Elizabeth Lind, age 92, of Wauseon and life-long resident of Fulton County passed away peacefully at Fulton Manor in Wauseon, Ohio on Saturday, January 25, 2014.

She was born on January 7, 1922 at her family’s farm in York Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and C. Elizabeth (Zimmerman) Hoffman. On June 9, 1942 she married Paul Lind and he preceded her to heaven in 1996.

Dorothy was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Fulton Health Center Auxiliary. She was also the secretary of the Wauseon Park Board for many years. Dorothy was an active member of the Fulton County Republican Party. She served as the Director or Deputy Director of the Fulton County Board of Elections for many years.

Surviving are children: Beverly Yocum of Bingham Farms, MI, Terry (Carol) Lind of Port St. Joe, FL, Gary (Melanie) Lind of Naples, FL, and daughter-in-law Caryl Lind of Sylvania, Ohio. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as her sisters, Sadonna Spiess of Archbold, Ohio and Joan Tilse of Wauseon, Ohio. Preceding her in death was son Larry Lind and her three bothers, Stanley, Lowell, and Emerson.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Keith Hunsberger officiating. Friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, Ohio. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
