Dr. Larry O. Hanna, 71 years, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, under the tender care of Community Health Professionals Hospice. Larry was born September 20, 1942 in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late Robert O. and Mary L. (Tawney) Hanna. He was a 1960 graduate of Bryan High School. He received his DDS degree in 1966 from The Ohio State University. Larry served in the United States Army from 1967 until his discharge in 1969. He married Holly K. Ames on June 29, 1968 in Bryan, Ohio and she survives. In 1967, Larry was a founding partner of the Hanna, Baker and Phillips Dental Group. He retired in 2008. He was a member of the Ohio Dental Association. Larry had served as a former President of the Bryan Swim Team Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family and field training his dogs.
In addition to his wife Holly, he is survived by two sons, Mathew (Jennifer) Hanna of Newbury, Ohio and Douglas (Mandy) Hanna of Bryan; four grandchildren, Owen and Ellie Hanna and Piper and Finnegan Hanna; one sister Pat Kruse of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services for Dr. Larry O. Hanna will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private interment was made in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy to consider memorial contributions be made to Community Health Professionals Hospice (a Not for Profit Organization), 127 Blakeslee Avenue, Bryan, Ohio, 43506, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
