Edon mayor to retire

The mayor of Edon is retir­ing. Dar­lene Burkhardt has lived in the vil­lage her whole life, and is ready to relax and enjoy the fruits of her labor, over­see­ing the county for 8 years as mayor, 21 years as Flo­rence Town­ship clerk and on the Board of Elec­tions for Williams County for 8 years. Burkhardt says she’s going to spend time with her daugh­ter doing char­ity work.
