Edwin E. Maugel, 93

Edwin E. Maugel, age 93, of Farmer, Ohio, died at 10:49 P.M. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, shortly after admittance to Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, Ohio. He was a 1942 graduate of Farmer High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. He was employed by Farmer School for thirty-eight years as a custodian and also had been a bus driver for the school for fifteen years. He was a fireman for Farmer Township for twenty-seven years and had served as an EMT for a number of years, served Farmer Township as Clerk and as a Trustee for forty-four years and had also been a Little League coach for fifteen years. Ed was a Life Member of the Farmer American Legion Post #137 and he enjoyed camping, going to sporting events and horse races, family get togethers, gardening and mowing.

Edwin E. Maugel was born on August 27, 1924, in Farmer Township, Ohio, the son of Donald and Esther (Cook) Maugel. He married Marian E. Weisz on June 15, 1946, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Larry (Laurel) Maugel, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brent (Roberta) Maugel, of Littleton, Massachusetts, and Les Maugel, of Temperance, Michigan; one daughter, Marcy (Larry) Hussey; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Lois Maugel, of Bryan, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert, in World War II, and Marvin; one sister, June Campbell; and an infant brother, Gerald Lee Maugel.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 1, 2017, with Reverend Ron Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by
Farmer American Legion Post #137 and the United States Navy Honor Guard.

Memorials are requested to Farmer United Methodist Church.
