Dominique Effinger of Fort Wayne will face trial for a summer boating incident. Prosecutors say the boat she was driving spun out of control and circled in the water unmanned at 30 miles per hour before it was eventually slowed and corralled by a conservation officer. Effinger lost control of the motorboat on Lake Gage at high speeds. The Steuben County Prosecutor’s Office said she was also under the influence of alcohol. Ten people were thrown overboard and two had to be airlifted from the area with serious injuries; one with a skull fracture and another with a partial lower arm amputation. Effinger is charged in Steuben County Court.
