Elmer Baldridge, Sr., age 86, of Defiance, Ohio, died at 12:45 A.M. on Friday, February 22, 2019, at the Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center near Defiance. Mr. Baldridge worked for Campbell’s Soup for over 37 years, mostly as a can maker and lid tender. He was a member of the Defiance Post of the AmVets.
Elmer Baldridge, Sr. was born on January 10, 1933, in Grundy, Virginia, the son of Sherd and Vernie (McGlothlan) Baldridge. He married Judy Carol in July 1965, in Virginia, and she preceded him in death.
Elmer is survived by his children, Elmer “Matt” (Lisa Cameron) Baldridge, Jr., of Defiance, Lola Helmke, of Wauseon, Mark (Kelly) Baldridge, of Ridgeville Corners and Sheila Hamilton, of Lima; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren and a sister, Lillian Griffey, of Holgate. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Rita Rettig; brothers, Billy, Bud and Wilmer Baldridge and sisters, Opal Coleman and Helen Mead.
Honoring Elmer’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
