Estel L. “Lynn” Salisbury, 64 years, of Mark Center, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his residence with his family at his side. Lynn was born August 7, 1950 in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of the late Estel and Josephine (Demongeot) Salisbury. He was a 1968 graduate of Fairview High School. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Lynn married Sally Salisbury on September 26, 1997 in Defiance, and she survives. He was employed by the Defiance County Highway Department for 35 years, retiring in 2002. Lynn enjoyed hunting deer and raccoon as well as restoring tractors in his garage. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Sally of Mark Center; four children, Cory Salisbury of Evansport, Ohio, Casey (Kit) Salisbury of Evansport, Ohio, Crystal (John) Dippman of Sherwood and Jody Miller (Dave) of Wauseon, Ohio; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Harrison of Hicksville, Ohio and Jane (Monty) McGough of Garrett, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Salisbury.
Visitation for Estel L. “Lynn” Salisbury will be held Monday, March 16, 2015, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 2:00– 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 with Pastor James Spear officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Sherwood VFW Post 5665.
