Eugene Zehr, 64

Eugene L. Zehr, 64 years, of Bryan, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at his residence.  Eugene was born November 10, 1949 in Auburn, Indiana, the son of Loyal and Dolores (Middleton) Zehr.  He was a 1967 graduate of Bryan High School.  He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Viet Nam Era.  Eugene worked for Cooper Tire in Auburn, Indiana, retiring in 2005.  Prior to this, he was a welder for the former Trim Trends.  He was affiliated with Life Changing Realities Fellowship in Edgerton.  He was a member of the Montpelier Moose, Montpelier Eagles and the Amvets Post 54 as well as being active in numerous car clubs in the area.  He enjoyed motorcycles, going to car and motorcycle shows, but thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving is his son, Eric (Alisha Helf) Zehr of Edgerton; eight grandchildren, his mother, Dolores L. Zehr of Bryan; three sisters, Kathy (Van) May of Marietta, Georgia, Debbie (Gary) Smith of Defiance and Barbara Nihart Rupp of Bryan as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Loyal; two brothers, Jeff and Dean Zehr; grandparents, Arthur Middleton, Edith McCann, Elmer and Emma Zehr.

Visitation for Eugene L. Zehr will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014.  Interment will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer.
