Eunice Pauline Oyer, age 97, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away May 15, 2021 at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the flashlight factory in Wauseon.
Eunice was born March 15, 1924 to the late Walter and Pearl (Balser) Hancock. On December 12, 1960, Eunice married Elmer “Junior” Oyer, who preceded her in death in 2018. Eunice loved to play Bingo and cards with Junior and their Archbold friend group. She also crocheted and was a mushroom hunter. In the winter, Junior and her would spend time in Arizona. She also enjoyed cooking, and made sure that family dinners happened every Sunday at noon.
Those left to remember Eunice are her sons, Rex (Jill) and Ray (Sandra) Oyer of Wauseon; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don, Jack, Robert, and Oscar Hancock; and sister, Grace (Faunce) Hancock. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Gladys Hancock Edgar; brother, Harvey Hancock; sister, Evelyn Hancock Clark; and brother, Chuck Hancock.
A funeral service for Eunice will take place on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Crossroads Church in Wauseon at 11 am, with Pastor Kevin Clark officiating. Friends and family are called for a time of visitation at 10 am on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, also at the church. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at the Pettisville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Crossroads Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
