Fast-moving fire Thursday afternoon destroys ranch house in southern Defiance County. 

A fast-moving fire on Thursday afternoon destroyed a ranch house in southern Defiance County.  Just after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Highland Township firemen were dispatched to 17945 Highland Center Road, a few miles south of Ayersville. Colleagues from Continental in Putnam County and South Richland in Defiance County soon joined them. Additionally, assistance was requested from the Holgate and New Bavaria fire departments in Henry County.  The fire was well begun when firemen arrived.
