Fay L. (Croninger) McDermott, 100

Fay L. (Croninger) McDermott, age 100 of Wauseon, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Fulton Manor.

Fay was born on June 1, 1918 to the late Earl and Mary (Kimerer) Croninger. On August 28, 1937, she married John L. McDermott, and he preceded her in death in 1995. Prior to her retirement, she was co-owner of Dyer & McDermott Electric in Wauseon and was a homemaker. She loved to play golf and bridge and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Wauseon, the Eastern Star and former member of the Elks Club.

Left to cherish Fay’s memory is daughter, Lynn Cook; son, Lyle L. (Lisa) McDermott; grandson, Jeffrey Cook; great-grandchildren, Michael Cook, B.J. Chandler, and Rachael Chandler; great-great granddaughter, Skyla Chandler; sister, Mary Ellen Todd; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Jennifer Cook, brothers, Chrales Croninger and Clyde Croninger, and sister Esther Mohr.

Visitation for Fay will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church, 215 N. Fulton St., Wauseon, Ohio. Funeral services will also be held at the church on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Berne, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery.
