Fed Judge Stops Ohio From Limiting Early Voting

The State of Ohio has begun the appeal of a ruling against it on early voting. State officials intended to cut evening and weekend hours during which people could vote early. But a federal judge blocked them from doing that, siding with civil rights groups who said that discriminates against low income and minority voters who can’t take off to vote during working hours. An appeals court will take the case as a rush job because under the judge’s order early voting here would start September 30th.
