FIRE DAMAGES DEFIANCE HOME

Fire­fight­ers from through­out the area were called out to a house fire in Defi­ance Wednes­day morn­ing.

The call came in just before 4am for the blaze at 702 Har­ri­son Avenue.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames com­ing from the attic of the two story home.

One per­son was home, and they man­aged to escape with­out injury.

Inves­ti­ga­tors say the fire is believed to have orig­i­nated on the sec­ond floor and, based on pre­lim­i­nary inves­ti­ga­tion, is elec­tri­cal in nature.

Dam­age is being esti­mated at $60,000.
