Floy Ruth Begley, 88 years of Cecil, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, with her family at her side. Floy Ruth was born December 16, 1934, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Max and Bessie (Lord) Hauter. Floy Ruth attended Antwerp High School. She worked for several years as a machine operator for Dana Weatherhead. She also worked for the Antwerp Community Apartments and for Yoder’s Bakery in Hicksville. She was a member of Antwerp Global Methodist Church. Floy Ruth loved her family and that was the most important thing in her life. She also loved her dogs.

Surviving are her four children, Janice (Kenneth) Crawford of LaFollette, Tennessee,  Pastor Max (Lou Ann) Begley of Hicksville, Lynnette (Jimmy) Begley, Holgate, Ohio and Bobby Begley of Cecil, Ohio; ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; one half-sister, Carolyn Blalock Grover of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jimmy Begley: three grandchildren, Joey, Mary, and Robert and one brother, Maurice Hauter.

Visitation for Floy Ruth Begley will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services for Floy Ruth will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Crane Township, Ohio.
