The phone service provider for Hillside Country Living has given a reason why the facility has had phone issues over the last year.
Notes in a Frontier Communications repair ticket blames the problems on “flying squirrels.”
Regional general manager Dick Hutchinson claims squirrels and mice often cause technical difficulties.
Hillside director Marcia Hauer says following last month’s cable repairs, the facility has not experienced any service interruptions.
Hauer and maintenance chief Art Chupp told county commissioners last month that they endured at least nine such outages over a 14-month span.
The two of them cited an uptick in the outages in October.
